Austria May 2014: Opel Zafira jumps up to 7th place

The Austrian new car market is down a painful 7% year-on-year to 26,986 registrations after already losing 10% in May last year. The year-to-date total after 5 months now stands at 137,507 units, down 2% on 2013. No surprises in pole position: the VW Golf continues to reign supreme thanks to 1,739 sales and 6.4% share, almost 2.5 times the sales of any other model in the country. The Skoda Octavia is up two spots on April to 2nd place at 2.6%, as is the VW Tiguan at #3 and 2.1%. The Ford Focus does even better: up 3 to #4, while the Opel Zafira is up 8 ranks to a brilliant 7th spot and the Skoda Rapid continues to progress at #18.
