New car sales in Oman are up 2% year-on-year in March to 19,059 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 54,180 units, up just 0.5% on 2013. Like in January, February and year-to-date, Toyota monopolises the Top 6 best-sellers. The Toyota Hilux keeps the lead it held in 2012 and 2013 thanks to 2,050 sales and 10.8% share in March and 6,206 and 11.5% year-to-date, however this month the Toyota Land Cruiser Pick-up challenges the Hilux leadership with a brilliant 2,022 units and 10.6%. The Toyota Land Cruiser is down to 9.1% vs. 10.1% year-to-date, and the Prado, Hiace and Corolla holds onto their ranking at #4, #5 and #6 respectively.

The Ford F-Series is among the 50 most popular vehicles in Oman this month.

This month the most popular non-Toyota is the Hyundai Elantra in 7th place with 422 sales and 2.2%, but the Toyota Group also nabs the 8th spot with the Lexus LX at 2.1% share. The Hyundai Santa Fe and Fuso Canter round up the Top 10. Great performers in Oman in March include the Nissan Sunny up 14 spots on February to #12, Nissan Urvan up 39 to #13, Mitsubishi L200 up 16 to #26, Renault Duster up 20 to #43, Ford F-Series up 67 to #45 and the Suzuki SX4 up 77 to #46.
