October marks the 7th consecutive month of year-on-year growth for new car sales in Slovenia, up a flamboyant 23% to 4,600 registrations, which brings the year-to-date total to 44,353 units, up 4% on 2012. Traditionally the #1 brand in the country thanks its local assembly line, Renault is the big winner this month as it does even better than usual, doubling its sales compared to October 2012 to 949 units and a huge 20.6% market share. The French manufacturer even places 4 models inside the Top 6 this month, way better than at home in France! After being passed by the Scenic last month, the Clio reclaims the top spot thanks to 338 sales and 7.3%, the Scenic is down to #3 but still strong at 5.5%, the Megane is up to #4 at 3.3% and the Captur delivers its third month in a row inside the Top 10 at #6 with 2.9%.
The VW Golf, although #2 like year-to-date, delivers its best share this year so far at 6% (also reached last February), the Skoda Octavia is up to #5 with 3.3% share, one full percentage point above its year-to-date level, the Hyundai i30 is up a magnificent 24 spots on last month to land at #7, the Toyota Yaris is up 20 to #9, Seat Leon up 23 to #14, VW Tiguan up 9 to #16 vs. #37 year-to-date, Citroen DS3 up 11 to #27 and the Peugeot 2008 is up to a best-ever #33 with 41 sales and 0.9%.
