For only the second time ever on BestSellingCarsBlog I can share with you a monthly ranking for Kazakhstan, which thanks to Irina from www.akab.kz is now a monthly update on BSCB. We also have 6 months sales result to make the picture more meaningful. If you thought a 58% year-on-year sales increase in May was not sustainable, you were wrong! In June the Kazakh new car market is up 71% to 14,427 registrations, which means the 6 months total now stands at 68,783 units, up 72% on 2012 which was already a record year… Apply the 72% growth rate to the Full Year 2012 result and you come to a shiny 164,000 registrations over the Full Year 2013.
No change atop the models ranking: the Lada Priora is still way ahead of the competition with 1,668 sales and 11.6% share in June (+91%) and an even better 8,938 units and 13% year-to-date, up 113% on 2012. The Lada Samara was the country’s best-seller at the same stage last year, but it has lost its title both in June and year-to-date, ranking #2 with 1,146 sales and 7.9% (+28%) and 5,946 and 8.6% so far in 2013 (+16%). In June we welcome back on the podium the Uz-Daewoo Nexia, #1 in 2010, up 64% on June 2012 to 1,047 units and 7.3%. The Lada 4×4 (aka Niva) is up one spot on May to #4 while the Lada Granta is surprisingly down 2 to #5 this month but remains #3 year-to-date with 4,396 sales and 6.4%.
Further down, notice the Kia Rio up 565% to #7 at 499 units and 3.5%, the ZAZ Chance up 3 spots on May to #10, the Kia Sportage up 19 ranks on May and 664% on June 2012 to #11, the Skoda Rapid making its very first appearance in the Kazakh monthly Top 20 at #15 with 1.4% share and the Hyundai Elantra up to #20.
