Thanks to Erzincem and Furkan I can share Turkish sales with you well in advance this month and in fact only 3 days after publishing February data! The new car market in Turkey is decidedly stuck in a positive vibe: up another 10% year-on-year in March to 51,785 registrations which puts the year-to-date total at 114,434 units, up 17% on 2012. After a 17 months hiatus (!), the Renault Symbol is back in charge of the Turkish market thanks to the new generation, selling 3,409 units for a 6.6% market share. It is the first time since October 2011 that the Symbol ranks #1 in Turkey. The Fiat Linea, #1 in 2012, is back up to #2 with a solid 3,220 sales and 6.2% which enables it to (temporarily?) take the lead year-to-date at 6,061 sales and 5.3% vs. 5,886 and 5.2% for the Symbol.
Other great performers in Turkey in March include the Opel Corsa back up 17 spots on February to #4, the VW Golf up 8 to #5, the Opel Astra Sedan breaking into the Top 10 for the first time for this generation, up 6 ranks to #10, the Peugeot 301 solid at #12 and the Hyundai i30 up to #18.
