In January 2013, 898 new vehicles found a buyer in New Caledonia, a French overseas territory located North-East of Australia. The Ford Ranger confirms it is the crowds’ favourite by selling 70 units this month for an excellent 7.8% market share, more than two percentage points above its FY2012 share of 5.7%. Another model that performs extremely well this month on the archipelago is the Peugeot 206+, up to #2 at 42 units and 4.7% vs. 2.7% in 2012. This is probably due to a large order from rental companies and as the 208 is now well and truly in market it should be one of the last strong months for the 206+…
The Toyota Hilux rounds up the podium with 41 sales and 4.6%, followed by the Nissan Navara at 4.3% and the Dacia Duster at 3.5%. Let’s also salute the great performances of the Citroen Berlingo at #6 vs. #14 in 2012, Suzuki Swift at #9 vs. #20, Isuzu D-Max at #15 vs. #38, Citroen C3 at #18 vs. #26, Peugeot 308 at #20 vs. #34, Great Wall Florid at #21 vs. #40 and the Citroen DS3 at #25 vs. #48.
