Venezuela January 2013: Fiat Siena and DongFeng S30 on top

New car sales in Venezuela are down 13% year-on-year to 5,542 registrations in January. The Venezuelan models ranking is traditionally very volatile and this month is no different. The Fiat Siena takes the lead with 722 sales and a huge 13% share ahead of the DongFeng S30 at 643 units and 11.6%, way above the share that allowed it to rank #1 last month (7.1%). The Mazda BT-50 rounds up the podium with 467 sales and 8.4%, making it 3 months in a row in the Top 6 whereas it ranked #18 in 2012.
The Toyota Corolla is up 10 spots to #4, the Peugeot 207 reappears in the ranking at #5 with 334 units and 6% vs. 0.8% in 2012, while the VW Fox also makes a comeback at #6 at 250 sales and 4.5% and the Haima 7 breaks into the Top 10 for the first time at #8 with 242 sales and 4.4%. 2012’s leader the Chevrolet Aveo is down to #10 this month, the Renault Kangoo/Koleos is up to #12 at 166 units and 3%, more than what the two models sold over the entire year 2012…
