Iceland mid-November 2012: Skoda Citigo and Dacia Duster up

332 new vehicles found a buyer over the first half of November in Iceland, bringing the year-to-date total to 7,710 units. The Skoda Octavia leads again with 30 sales and 9% share, and is now only 4 units below the Toyota Yaris in the 2012 year-to-date ranking at 481 units and 6.2% vs. 485 and 6.3% for the Yaris, down to #4 over the period. Volkswagen is the #1 brand in the country and places the Polo at #2 with 27 sales and 8.1% and the Golf at #3 with 21 units and 6.3%.

Other great performers include the VW Tiguan at #5 vs. #22 year-to-date, the Honda CR-V at #6, the Hyundai i30 at #8, Renault Megane at #9 and the Renault Clio at #10 thanks to the new generation. The Skoda Citigo is up to #14 with 6 sales while the Dacia Duster makes its first appearance in the Icelandic ranking, directly at #15 with 6 units sold also. Notice also the Volvo V40 at #19 with 5 sales.

    Agree. Will be interesting to see how Dacia does in the UK when launched Dec/ Jan.

    Starting to look like Dacia may be the very thing that drags Renault through the Great European depression of 2011-2015 alive.
