France 1-28 May 2012: Renault Megane #2, Peugeot 208 up to #6

Before I can share with you an entire French Top 100 for the month of May, here is an appetiser: the Top 10 up to May 28. Car sales are down just 1% to 127,447 units over the period. The Renault Clio is totally undisturbed by the arrival of the Peugeot 208 or the publication of spy pics of the Clio 4, even improving 16% year-on-year to 6,212 sales and 4.9%.
Boosted by its recent refresh, the Renault Megane is up 26% to 2nd place at 4,988 units and 3.9% its highest share so far this year, followed by the Citroen C4 down 16% to 3.2% share and the Peugeot 308 down 8% to 3% and the Renault Scenic closes up the Top 5, up 12%. It’s official, the all-new Peugeot 208 is now selling more than its predecessor, ranking 6th with 3,377 units and 2.6% while the 207 is #9 at 2.1%…
