The Malaysian car market starts off 2012 on the wrong foot: down 26% on January 2011 at 39,345 registrations. Leader for the last 6 years, the Perodua Myvi confirms its supremacy this month with a mammoth 18.1% market share thanks to 7,107 sales. The Proton Exora is up one spot to #6 thanks to the arrival of Bold version, making the 6 best-selling models in Malaysia this month 100% national. Other good performers this month include the Naza Forte up to #11, Ford Fiesta up 28 spots to #15, Nissan Sylphy up 25 ranks to #16 and Hyundai Tucson up 24 spots to #22.
Peugeot has a fantastic month, placing 3 models in the Top 40. The 207 is up 8 ranks on January to a best-ever 23rd place (vs. #50 over the Full Year 2011), the 308 is up 10 spots to #39 and the 508 breaks into the Malaysian Top 50 for the very first time at #40 with 90 sales.
