Greece January 2012: Opel Corsa hits highest share ever at 10%

The Greek new car market in January is down 13% on last year, which was already 63% down on January 2010… For the 10th time in the last 12 months, the Opel Corsa leads the models ranking and even reaches its highest ever market share in January at 10% thanks to 845 sales! Up to 14.8% in December, the Toyota Yaris new generation is down to a more reasonable 4.7% at 397 units this month, while the VW Polo rounds up the podium at 379 sales and 4.5%.
Hyundai is in good shape, placing the i10 at #6 and the i20 at #7, the VW Tiguan is up a massive 21 spots on December to break into the Greek Top 10 for the very first time at 198 units and 2.3%, and the Kia Rio continue to progress, up 20 ranks to #24. Two other newcomers get noticed: the Audi Q3 up to #32 with 80 sales and the Lancia Ypsilon up to #36 at 73 units, Greece being the model’s most successful country after Italy.
