France LCV January 2012: Range Evoque & Nissan NV400 land

The Light Commercial vehicle market resists better than the Passenger Car one in France this month at -3% to 32,707 registrations vs. -21%. It’s good to know that in France what defines a Light Commercial Vehicle is the buyer and the purpose for which the vehicle is bought, not the actual vehicle. If it’s for a company it’s in, otherwise it’s out. This is because company purchases are exempt of taxes. That explains the presence of the Range Rover Evoque above…
After two months of Renault Clio domination, the Renault Kangoo reclaims its traditional top spot with 2,779 sales and 8.5% share, albeit only 34 units above the Clio. The Renault Master is stable at #3 and 5.8%, followed by the Renault Trafic at 5.4%, making the Top 4 100% Renault.
Other good performers include the Renault Twingo up 16 spots on December to #19, the Iveco 35S13 up 14 ranks to #34 and the Peugeot 3008 up 13 spots to #60. New entrants in the Top 100 this month include the Range Rover Evoque at #61, the Nissan NV400 (the Renault Master/Opel Movano’s twin) at #63 and the Iveco 35C17 at #70.
