Egypt August 2011: Hyundai Verna & New Elantra on top

Egyptian new car sales are down 25% year-to-date in August at 16,396 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 111,108 units, down 33%. The Hyundai Verna reclaims the pole position this month with 2,037 sales and 12.4% share, while the Hyundai Elantra new generation drops to #2 at 1,199 units and 7.3% after an exceptional month of July (#1 with 1,966 sales and 11.1%).

Geely Panda

The Chevrolet TFR (aka Isuzu D-Max), Chevrolet Lanos, Hyundai Elantra previous generation and Chevrolet Optra follow. The Kia Carens is up 3 spots to #7 and the Renault Logan is up 8 spots to #9. The Speranza Tiggo is the best-selling Chinese model in the country in August at #18 with 1.1% share. Other great performers include the Speranza M11, up 32 spots to #23, the Geely Panda, up 7 spots to #28 and the VW Golf , up 19 spots to #29.
