Argentina August 2011: Chevrolet Classic reclaims top spot

At 79,826 registrations, August 2011 is the 4th biggest month ever for Argentinean car sales, up a massive 39% year-on-year. The Chevrolet Classic jumps back into pole position this month with 3,983 sales and 5% market share, reinforcing its 2011 year-to-date leadership at 30,689 units and 5.2%. The Peugeot 207 is up two spots to #2 with 3,457 sales and 4.3%, it is #3 year-to-date.
The two generations of VW Gol follow: the Gol Power – previous generation – is still very solid in 3rd place at 3,263 units and 4.1% (#6 at 3.1% year-to-date) and the Gol Trend – current generation – is 4th with 3,153 sales and 3.9% (#2 at 4.1% year-to-date). The Renault Sandero at 3.6% and Ford Ecosport at 2.8% follow.
Further down the ranking, notice the Chevrolet Celta landing in the Argentinean Top 10 for the first time at #8 with 1,993 sales (2.5%), the new generation Fiat Uno down 5 spots but still robust at #14 and the Peugeot 408 holding itself within the Top 30 at #29 with 944 sales and 1.2% share.
