Japan Kei cars July 2011: Suzuki Wagon R leader again

While passenger car sales experienced a set back this month (-28%), the Kei cars market continues to recover, down 14% in July at 131,586 registrations, compared to -18% in June, -25% in May and -45% in April.
#1 for the 5th consecutive month at 15,039 units, the Suzuki Wagon R reclaims the top spot in the year-to-date ranking also with 91,835 sales, passing the Daihatsu Move, #2 in July at 12,830 units and year-to-date with 90,635 sales.
Like last month and in 2011 overall, the Daihatsu Tanto rounds up the podium with 12,794 and 76,998 registrations respectively. The Suzuki Alto is up one spot on June to #4, the Honda Life does the same at #6 and the new generation Suzuki MR Wagon is back inside the Top 10.
