Netherlands June 2011: Peugeot 107 stays on top

In June the Dutch car market stands absolutely still year-on-year, down 2 units (!) at 50,683 registrations, bringing the half-year figure to 328,545 units, up 22%.

The Peugeot 107 is the best-selling model in the country for the 2nd month in a row, improving its share to an outstanding 5.9% with 2,972 sales. It is #3 year-to-date at 12,621 sales, only 8 less than the Renault Twingo, #2 in June (4.4%) as well as year-to-date (3.8%).

The VW Polo, #3 this month, holds on to the 2011 leadership with 14,190 sales and 4.3% share. Excellent month for the Hyundai i10, up 18 spots on May in 4th with 3%, just ahead of the Opel Astra, stable at #5. The all new Kia Picanto breaks into the Top 10 at #10.

Other good performers this month include the BMW 1 Series at #23 and the Alfa Romeo MiTo at #26. The Citroen DS4 appears in the Dutch ranking for the first time in 95th position with 119 sales.
