Norway June 2011: VW Passat takes the lead

VW Passat

Like in neighbouring Sweden, the Norwegian car market is down year-on-year for the first time in 2011 at -7% and 10,354 registrations in June. The year-to-date figure is still up by 10.5% at 68,505 units.

For the first time since 2007, the VW Passat is the best-selling model in Norway this month with 411 sales and 4%, ahead of the VW Golf at 3.8% and the Mitsubishi ASX at 3.5%. The Ford Focus continues to progress at #4 and 3.1%.

Peugeot 508

It’s a good month for the Ford Mondeo, up to #5, and the Volvo V70, up 6 spots to #7. The Peugeot 508 makes its first appearance in the Norwegian Top 20 at a very impressive 12th spot with 191 sales and 1.8% share.
