Sweden June 2011: Volvo XC60 at its highest

In June, Swedish car sales are down for the first time this year at -3% and 27,485 registrations. Midway through the year, the market is still up 14% at 157,042 units. The Top 4 for the month is identical to the year-to-date ranking. The Volvo V70 is unsurprisingly #1 at 7.2% share in May and 6.8% year-to-date at 10,645 sales, down 21% on 2010.

The VW Passat, #2, drops from 6% in May to 4.2% this month and is now also #2 year-to-date, 19 units ahead of the VW Golf, both models at 4.4% share. The Volvo V60 establishes itself in 4th position, still above the V50. The Volvo XC60 is the performer of the month, reaching an outstanding 5th place with 812 sales and 3%, its best-ever score in Sweden.

BMW X3

The Renault Megane stays strong at #7, the Kia Sportage is up 14 spots to #24 and the new generation BMW X3 holds its place in the Top 50 at #49. On the downside, the Saab 9-3 drops to #41 with 182 sales while the Saab 9-5 is #114 with only 39 units changing hands in June.
