Netherlands May 2011: Peugeot 107 leader, new Kia Picanto up

Car sales in the Netherlands are getting better and better this year: up 37% in May at 50,059 units, bringing the year-to-date total to 278,122, up 27%. This month the Peugeot 107 takes the lead with 2,366 sales and 4.7%, it is #3 year-to-date with 9,666 units and 3.5%. The VW Polo takes the 2nd spot at 1,699 sales (3.4%) but keeps the lead in 2011 with 12,444 units and 4.5%.
The Seat Ibiza rounds up the podium with a solid 3% share, ahead of the Fiat Panda up 15 spots and the Opel Astra up 11 spots. The Renault Clio (+11) and Citroen C1 (+4) follow. After the Peugeot 508 in 10th place in April (it is #16 this month), Dutch buyers confirm they are early adopters of new models by pushing the new generation Kia Picanto up to #11 with 1,076 sales and 2.1% share.
