Poland 2005: Skoda Fabia back in pole position

Polish car sales hit a new low this year, down 24% on 2004 to 251,010 registrations. Interrupted last year by the Fiat Panda, the Skoda Fabia’s reign in Poland resumes in 2005 with the model selling 16,789 units for a 6.7% market share, albeit down 36% year-on-year. The Fiat Panda falls to #2 with 16,239 sales and 6.5%, down 48% and the Opel Astra rounds up the podium at 10,665 units and 4.2% share, down just 7%.

The rest of the Top 10 is totally reshuffled except for the Skoda Octavia holding on to its 4th position with 9,937 sales and 4%, down 17%. It is followed by the Ford Focus (-7%), Toyota Corolla (-21%), Toyota Yaris (-32%), Opel Corsa (-34%), Peugeot 206 (-41%) and Fiat Seicento (-56%). Notice also the Honda Civic up 6 spots to #13, the Citroen Berlingo up 8 ranks to #14 and VW Passat up 21 spots to #20.
