Poland 2003: Skoda Fabia takes the lead

After 3 consecutive years of reduced sales, the Polish car market is back on the up in 2003 at 363,800 registrations, 17% better than in 2002. For the first time in Poland, the Skoda Fabia is the best-selling model in the country, up 20% to 31,418 sales and 8.6% share and putting an end to the 4 years reign of the Fiat Seicento, down 4% to #2 with 28,158 units and 7.7%. The Fiat Punto rounds up the podium again with 14,189 sales and 3.9%, up 18%.

Excellent year for the Toyota Yaris, up 4 spots and 46% to #4 at 13,985 units and 3.8%, followed by the best newcomer in the ranking: the locally produced Fiat Panda landing directly in a fantastic 5th place with 13,741 sales and 3.8%. Only 7 units below is the Toyota Corolla continuing its progression at +34% ahead of the Opel Corsa at +39%, the Peugeot 206 at +9%, Ford Focus at +15% and Skoda Octavia at +21%. Notice also the Toyota Avensis up 179% to #16, the Citroen C3 up 160% to #22 and the Opel Vectra up 214% to #23.
