Poland 2002: Last year of reign for the Fiat Seicento

Another year in the red for Poland car sales, down 5% on 2001 to 310,929 registrations. The locally produced Fiat Seicento is the best-selling model in the country for the fourth (but last) year in a row with 29,267 sales and 9.4% share, down 28% year-on-year. It is threatened for the throne by the Skoda Fabia, up a shiny 8% to 26,241 units and 8.4% while the Fiat Punto rounds up the podium with 12,024 sales and 3.9%, down 11%.

Only 49 units below and up 3 spots to #4, the Peugeot 206 impresses with sales up 14%. The Toyota Corolla does even better, up 25 ranks and a whopping 215% to #5 with 10,233 units and 3.3%. The Ford Focus doesn’t behave badly either, up 10 spots and 61% to 10,180 sales. The other new entrant in the Top 10 this year is the Toyota Yaris up 5 ranks to #8 with 9,561 units and 3.1%. Notice also the Skoda Octavia breaking into the Polish year-end Top 10 for the first time at #10 and the Peugeot 307 up 23 spots and 185% to #13 for its first full year of sales.
