Brazil 2001: VW Gol and Fiat Palio dominate

Solid year for the traditional two Brazilian best-sellers: the VW Gol delivers 265,898 units, ahead of the Fiat Palio at 163,706 sales, the Fiat Uno at 114,539 sales and the Chevrolet Celta at 90,159 units.

Quatro Rodas figures now split hatchback and sedans versions, which means the Chevrolet Corsa Sedan drops to 5th position with 83,526 sales. The Hatch version comes in at 6th with 52,123 units. In the Palio family, the Palio Weekend is #8 at 37,303 sales, the Siena is #9 at 33,942 and the Strada is #11 at 29,007.
