Czech Republic 1998-2000: Skoda Felicia above 30% share

The light vehicle market is stable over the period in Czech Republic at 158,640 registrations in 1998. 162,923 in 1999 and 164,816 in 2000. The Skoda Felicia dominates the models ranking, reaching market shares of 35.2% in 98, 31.6% in 99 and 19.8% in 2000 that including the combi variants. The Skoda Fabia, launched in 2000, reaches 14.6% share that year for a 2nd place overall. The Skoda Octavia follows at 13.6% in 98, 12.5% in 99 and 13% in 2000 including combis. The title of best-selling foreign model changes hands: it goes to the Ford Escort in 98 to the Daewoo Matiz in 99 and Peugeot 206 in 2000. Other successful models over the period include the Opel Astra, Fiat Punto, VW Polo and Renault Megane.
