Portugal 1994: Opel Corsa & Fiat Punto both at 12.4% share!

For its first full year of sales in the country, the Fiat Punto manages the exceptional feat of coming just 49 units short of the pole position in Portugal in 1994 with 28,904 sales and a huge 12.4% market share, the same share the Opel Corsa hit thanks to 28,953 units sold… The Renault Clio rounds up the podium albeit with sales down 15% to 17,688 and 7.6% share.
The Ford Fiesta stays #4, followed by the Peugeot 106 and the Opel Astra still leading its category. The Seat Ibiza is up 3 spots on 1993 to #7 while the Rover 200/400, now merged together, manage an outstanding 10th place with 6,736 sales and 2.9%. The Honda Civic replaces the Toyota Corolla as the Japanese best-seller at #11 with 5,636 units and 2.4%, the Renault Twingo is up 61% to #15, the Renault Laguna lands directly at #18, the Seat Cordoba at #19 and the Lancia Delta is up 114% to #27.
