Greece 1987: Nissan Sunny, Cherry and Lada Nova on podium

Today let’s go on trip down memory lane, 25 years ago in Greece to be precise. Thanks to Bill I can now share with you the Top 10 most popular models in the country in 1987. This is the oldest models ranking available for Greece on BSCB. If you have older info please make sure you comment on this article or fill in the ‘Contact us’ form. Logically, given Nissan is the #1 that year in Greece, the Nissan Sunny is the favourite model with 5,812 sales and 11.5% share, nearly double the score of the #2 the Lada Nova 1200 at 2,958 units and 5.9%.
In fact Nissan even places two models on the Greek podium in 1987, with the Cherry at #3 only 6 units below the Nova at 2,952 sales and 5.8% also. There are no less than 4 Japanese models in the Top 5, with the Toyota Starlet ranking #4 and the Toyota Corolla at #5. Notice also the Austin Metro at #7, Seat Gredos (aka Malaga) at #8 and Austin Montego at #10.
