Luxembourg July 2022: Peugeot (+136%) euphoric in market down “just” -6.6%

Peugeot sales are up 136% in Luxembourg in July.

New car sales in Luxembourg fall -6.6% year-on-year in July to 3,721 units, smallest market drop since February. However the market is down -32.5% on the 5,509 sales of July 2020. The year-to-date tally is now off -12.8% to 25,533. Volkswagen (-6.5%) almost exactly matches the market to easily retain the brands top spot at 14% share vs. 11.8% so far this year. Peugeot (+136%) once again posts an exceptional performance, the biggest gainer in the Top 25, leading it to 10.4% share vs. 8.9% YTD. Just one sale below is Mercedes (-8.7%) while BMW (+0.8%) and Audi (+2%) close out the Top 5 with small gains. Citroen (+36.6%) and Fiat (+15.8%) are also up in the remainder of the Top 10 whereas Volvo (-29.3%), Skoda (-22.8%) and Hyundai (-16.6%) suffer. Below, Cupra (+2.6%) is only 13 units below Seat (-67.5%) while Lexus (+1150%), Polestar (+225%) and Kia (+26%) stand out with superb upticks.
