Luxembourg June 2022: Peugeot (+37.9%) defies 4th consecutive double-digit market fall (-19.7%)

Peugeot sales are up 37.9% year-on-year in a market down -19.7%.

It’s a fourth consecutive double-digit year-on-year loss for the Luxembourg new car market at -19.7% to 3,590 registrations. The year-to-date volume is now off -13.7% to 21,812 units. Volkswagen (-17.2%) remains dominant with 13.3% share vs. 11.4% over H1, while Audi (-24.4%) stays in 2nd place despite falling faster than the market. Peugeot (+37.9%) goes completely against the market and lifts two spots on May to land on the third step of the podium at 9.5% share, only one unit below Audi. Mercedes (-18.7%) roughly matches the market at #4 but BMW (-40.7%) freefalls at #5. Fiat (+0.8%) is the only additional gainer in the Top 10, with Opel (-5.2%) gaining share, Skoda (-16.9%) and Citroen (-18.1%) resisting somewhat but Hyundai (-29.9%) in a rut. Below, Porsche (+3.2%) ranks #11 like last month, Toyota (+12.3%), DS (+168%) and Cupra (+152.2%) stand out.
