Poland April 2022: Kia Sportage up to #2, Peugeot 308 in Top 20, market off -14.7%

The Peugeot 308 breaks into the Polish Top 20 in April.

New car sales in Poland drop -14.7% year-on-year in April to 33,643 units, leading to a year-to-date tally down -13.8% to 133,918. Toyota easily remains the most popular carmaker in the country with 18.4% share vs. 18.2% year-to-date, that’s well more than double any other brand. Skoda is up one spot on March to #2 while Hyundai is up 3 to #3 and Kia down 2 to #4. Kia however retains the #2 spot YTD. BMW shines with 7.6% share vs. 6% YTD and advances two ranks to #5, distancing Mercedes and Volkswagen. Ford rallies back up four spots to #8 while Audi and Dacia round out the Top 10. Volvo, Opel, Renault, Peugeot and Mazda follow.

Model-wise, the Toyota Corolla is once again the best-seller with almost twice as many sales as any other nameplate in the market. The Kia Sportage is up a further one spot to land in 2nd place, dislodging the Toyota Yaris while the C-HR at #4 (+5) makes it three Toyotas in the Top 4. The Hyundai i30 is up three ranks to #5, distancing the Hyundai Tucson, Toyota RAV4 and Volvo XC60 outstanding at #8, its highest ranking since April 2020. The Toyota Yaris Cross reclaims a spot in the Top 10 at #9 while the Dacia Duster closes it out at #10 (-6). The BMW X3 shoots up to #16, the Peugeot 308 is helped by the new generation to #17, the Opel Crossland lifts to #19 and the BMW X5 is up 16 ranks to #20.
