Belgium April 2022: BMW breaks share record, Toyota and Kia shine, sales off -23.6%

BMW lifts its share record to 12% in April.

Only 28,402 new light vehicles found a buyer in Belgium in April, a -23.6% year-on-year fall which brings the year-to-date tally down -14% to 131,548. BMW (-15.7%) improves to a record 12% share (previous best 11.8% in January 2021) and signs a 16th victory over the past 19 months, cementing its YTD lead where it holds 9.8% share. Volkswagen (-19.7%) remains in 2nd place above Audi (-19.5%) up two spots on March to #3. Mercedes (-11.9%) and Peugeot (-40.9%) are both knocked down two spots to #4 and #5 respectively. Toyota (+20.6%) and Kia (+31.7%) are the only gainers in the Top 10 and they do so in splendid fashion with double-digit lifts. Increases are also rare further down the charts and include Lynk & Co (+5533.3%), MG (+635%), Polestar (+262.3%), Cupra (+52.6%), Honda (+24.3%), Jeep (+3.7%) and Porsche (+3.4%).
