Turkey March 2022: Market down -33.4%, Hyundai (+9%) only gainer in Top 24

Hyundai sales are up 9% in a market off -33.4% in March.

The Turkish new light vehicle market dives -33.4% to 64,267 sales on an all-time record March 2021, leading to a year-to-date tally down -23.5% to 152,050 units. This month Renault (-1.1%) manages the exploit of staying almost stable to  improve its share to 15.2%, ranking #1 and toppling the traditional leader Fiat (-30%) at 13.6% of the market. Fiat however remains the YTD best-seller with 14.7% share vs. 13.6% for Renault. Volkswagen (-42.8%) is in dire straits year-on-year but climbs back 6 spots on February to end the month on the third step of the podium. Ford (-49.2%) and Toyota (-57.1%) fare even worse below. Once again Hyundai (+9%) goes against the depressed context by posting the only year-on-year uptick in the Top 10 and Top 24. Honda (-2.4%), Opel (-13.3%) and Dacia (-21.5%) keep their fall below the market rate in the remainder of the Top 10 whereas Peugeot (-45.3%) does not.
