Netherlands November 2021: Skoda Enyaq scores first win, Lynk & Co 01 in Top 5, market down -17.5%

The Skoda Enyaq scores its first ever win in the Netherlands.

New car sales in the Netherlands fall -17.5% year-on-year in November to 27,333 registrations, leading to a year-to-date tally down -8.3% to 287,265 units. Kia (+15.2%) defies the market drop to cements its pole position in the brands ranking with 10.1% share vs. 9.5% so far this year. It distances Volkswagen (-35.9%) falling heavily year-on-year but close to its YTD level share-wise at 9.3%. Toyota (-4.5%) resists in third place while Skoda (+0.8%) edges up  and gains six spots on October to #4. Hyundai (+74.7%) posts by far the largest gain in the Top 10, with BMW (+15.5%) also up. In contrast Volvo (-46.3%), Renault (-32.3%), Peugeot (-28%) and Ford (-26.2%) all fall faster than the market. Further down, Cupra (+2533.3%), Dacia (+113%), Porsche (+81.1%), Tesla (+61.8%), Nissan (+37.6%) and Mini (+30.4%) stand out.

Over in the models ranking, the Skoda Enyaq signs its first win in the Netherlands with 3.7% share, edging past the year-to-date leader, the Kia Niro (-18.5%). The VW Polo (-0.1%) is stable and advances one spot on October to land on the third step of the podium. Below the Peugeot 208 (-8.9%), the Lynk & Co 01 continues to progress, brilliantly breaking into the Top 5 for the first time at #5. The Kia Picanto (+2.3%) also manages a year-on-year uptick in the remainder of the Top 10 but remains at a low 8th place vs. #2 year-to-date. At #9, the VW ID.4 is the third recent launch in the Top 10, it distances the Toyota Yaris Cross up 21 ranks on last month to #11, the Kia EV6 up 10 to #13, the Ford Mustang Mach-E up 28 to #15 and the Audi Q4 down four to #18.
