Denmark November 2021: Hyundai i20 leaps to top spot in market off -17.7%

The Hyundai i20 is the best-selling vehicle in Denmark in November.

New car sales in Denmark skid down -17.7% year-on-year in November to 14,958 units, leading to a year-to-date tally down -4.5% to 167,565. Despite a drastic fall, Volkswagen (-45.6%) remains the most popular carmaker in the country, ending the month only 6 sales above Hyundai (+26.1%) very dynamic once again. Mercedes (-30%) falls heavily year-on-year but climbs up four spots on last month to #3. Peugeot (-15.2%) is down one rank to #4 ahead of Toyota (-47.7%) in trouble. Volvo (+61.7%), Kia (+38.5%) and BMW (+23.7%) also show fantastic health in the remainder of the Top 10. Below, notice DS (+288.9%), MG (+234%) and Dacia (+166.2%) posting surreal gains while Cupra (#20) outsells parent brand Seat (#22), Aiways is up to #27 and we welcome Xpeng at #39.

Model-wise, the Hyundai i20 (+166.3%) is up a whopping 23 spots on October to easily snap the overall lead, almost 100 sales above the Citroen C3 (+89%) staying at #2. The Peugeot 208 (-14.5%) is up one rank to end the month on third step of the podium, distancing the Volvo XC40 (+145.6%) and Peugeot 3008 (+77.3%) both in outstanding shape. The Kia Ceed (+16%) is the only additional Top 10 gainer just as the VW ID.4 maintains itself inside the Top 10 at #9. It is the best-selling recent launch in Denmark ahead of the Ford Mustang Mach-E up 75 spots to #12 and the Hyundai Ioniq 5 up 41 to #13. The MG eHS (#37), Kia EV6 (#40) and Audi Q4 (#41) follow. Leader last month, the Ford Kuga (+370.3%) falls to #32 in November.
