Indonesia October 2021: Toyota Rush repeats at #1 in market up 54.1%

The Toyota Rush is the best-selling vehicle in Indonesia for the 2nd month running.

New vehicle wholesales in Indonesia are up 54.1% year-on-year in October to 75,544 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 67% to 703,089. Retail sales gain an even more impressive 67% year-on-year to 76,988 units with a year-to-date volume now up 49.3% to 677,333.

In the wholesales brands ranking, Toyota (+32.9%) trails the market growth the end the month with 28.8% share vs. 32.7% so far this year. In contrast Daihatsu (+105.3%) climbs to 22.5% vs. 18.9% YTD. Mitsubishi (+73%) also beats the market in third place above Suzuki (+48.2%) a little shy at #4. Honda (-24.2%) suffers but is back up one spot on last month to #5. Nissan (+1537.8%), Wuling (+330.9%), Fuso (+117%) and Hino (+110.4%) also shine further down. In the retail ranking, this time Toyota (+110.7%) improves its share to 36.8% vs. 33.3% year-to-date, with Daihatsu (+75.8%) and Mitsubishi (+76.5%) also outpacing the market. Wuling (+303.9%), Hino (+90.6%) and Fuso (+77%) also impress.

Over in the models ranking, the Toyota Rush repeats at #1 with 7% share vs. 6% ands #3 so far this year, with the Mitsubishi Xpander up seven spots on last month to #2, replicating its YTD ranking. The Toyota Kijang Innova is up three ranks on September to #3, distancing the Suzuki Carry Pikap and Honda Brio back up 26 spots to #5. Still #1 year-to-date, the Toyota Avanza plunges to a paltry 30th spot for the month. The Toyota Raize is up two ranks on last month to #6, the Toyota Fortuner also up two to #9 and the Honda CR-V up 20 to #10.
