Finland October 2021: Toyota and Corolla lead, Peugeot 2008 up to #4, sales off -12.5%

The Peugeot 2008 is up to #4 in Finland in October.

New car sales in Finland recede -12.5% year-on-year in October to 6.477 registrations, leading to a year-to-date tally up 4.7% to 82.818 units. Toyota (-15.4%) falls slightly faster than the market but easily remains in the brands leadership with 14.1% share vs. 15.5% so far this year. Volkswagen (-2.4%) resists well in 2nd place but it’s Kia (+22.5%) that delivers the best score near the top of the ranking, despite dropping one spot on September to #3. Volvo (+3.5%) is also up at #4 but Mercedes (-11%), Ford (-28.7%) and Skoda (-53.7%) all reverse. Near the tail end of the Top 10, Hyundai (+31.7%) and BMW (+22.6%) both score fantastic results. Further down, Land Rover (+207.1%), Mazda (+51.5%), Cupra (+40%), Subaru (+39.4%), Fiat (+36.4%), Jeep (+16.7%) and Seat (+13.3%) make waves with at least double-digit year-on-year gains.

Over in the models ranking, the Toyota Corolla (-12.2%) is head and shoulders above the competition with 7.4% share vs. 2.9% for the #2, the Toyota RAV4 (+19.1%). The Kia Ceed (+12.7%) is up six spots to #3 while the Peugeot 2008 (-14%) crawls back up from outside the September Top 30 directly to equal #4 with the Volvo XC60 (+83.9%). The Volvo XC40 (+21.8%) and Ford Focus (+11.5%) also defy the declining market while both the VW ID.3 and ID.4 manage to rank inside the Finnish Top 10 this month. The Ford Kuga (+264.3%), Kia Stonic (+126.9%) and Kia Niro (+20.9%) also impress with very solid upticks.
