Israel September 2021: Kia (+5.5%) defies market down -32.9%

Kia Niro sales are up 78.7% year-on-year in Q3 2021.

Thanks to our partnership with cartube.co.il, we can share with you today September brands data for Israel as well as monthly models data for Q3. The market is down -32.9% year-on-year in September to just 12.375 registrations, leading to a year-to-date tally up 37.9% to 248.900. Kia (+5.5%) goes against the negative environment to remain in the brands top spot with a fantastic 17.3% share vs. 12.6% so far this year. It distances Toyota (-13.3%) at 14.3% vs. 13.6% year-to-date and Hyundai (-45.5%) in great difficulty at 13.3% share vs. 15.5% YTD. Mazda (-19%) remains in 4th place while Mitsubishi (-41.3%) struggles year-on-year but rallies back up four spots on August to close the Top 5. In the remainder of the Top 10, Chevrolet (-6.5%) and Nissan (-9.4%) resist but Skoda (-66.5%) and Renault (-52.4%) freefall. Further down, Tesla is down 8 ranks to #13, while Alfa Romeo (+230%), Isuzu (+226.1%), Ssangyong (+100%), Jeep (+33.3%) and Ford (+28.7%) post rare gains.

Over in the Q3 models ranking, the Toyota Corolla (+48.8%) holds onto the top spot with a strong 6.8% share, it topped the charts each month this quarter. The Corolla distances the Hyundai Ioniq (+60.7%) also strong at 5% share, and in fact below the Corolla 6 of the 7 following models are Korean. The Kia Picanto (-15.8%) rounds out the podium ahead of the Kia Niro (+78.7%) and Stonic (+55.6%) both very dynamic. The Kia Sportage (+49%) and Hyundai Tucson (+27.7%) round out the Top 8. In between at #6 we find the Tesla Model 3 which ranks #3 in August but had no sales in July. The Seat Ibiza (+34.1%) and Toyota RAV4 (+9.1%) close out the Top 10. Below the Model 3, the Cupra Formentor (#42) and Ford Puma (#48) are the next best-selling recent launches in Israel.
