UK nations August 2021: Ford Puma tops two nations, Seat Leon up to #5 in Wales

The Seat Leon breaks into the Welsh Top 10 for the first time in August.

Thanks to our partnership with SMMT we can share with you the Top 10 best-sellers for each UK nation in August. Keep in mind this is a zoom in by nation, all sales figures are already included in our August 2021 UK update. Scotland (-16.7%) is the only nation outpacing the overall drop rate of -22% this month to 6.156 sales, with England down -22.1% to 56.531, Northern Ireland off -25.3% to 2.702 and Wales down -26.8% to 2.363. Year-to-date, Scotland one again fares best at +36.1% to 89.605 followed by England at +19.7% to 945.200, Northern Ireland up 15.6% to 26.798 and Wales up 5.4% to 36.670.

The podium finishers are as follows: the Ford Puma is #1 in England and Wales and #3 in Northern Ireland where it is #1 YTD, the Toyota Yaris is #1 in Northern Ireland and #3 in England, the VW Polo #1 in Scotland and #2 in England, the Kia Sportage #2 in Northern Ireland, the Vauxhall Corsa #2 in Scotland, the Dacia Sandero #2 in Wales, the Vauxhall Grandland X #3 in Scotland and the Kia Picanto #3 in Wales. Other great performers include the BMW 3 Series up to #4 in England, the Fiat 500 up to #5 in Scotland, the Seat Leon breaking into the Welsh Top 10 for the first time at #5, the Hyundai Kona breaking into the Scottish Top 10 for the first time at #8, the Peugeot 3008 #8 in Northern Ireland, the Audi Q2 #8 in Wales, the Toyota Corolla breaking into the English Top 10 at #9 and the MG HS #9 in Wales.
