Ukraine March 2021: Market up 44.5%, Chery in Top 10 for the first time

Chery ranks 8th brand in Ukraine in March.

New car sales in Ukraine rise 44.5% year-on-year in March to 9.024 units, tilting the year-to-date tally into positive at +4% and 21.096 registrations. Renault (+2.5%) reclaims the brands top spot off Toyota (+77.2%) which however remains the year-to-date leader. Below Kia (+12.2%) up one spot to #3, Skoda (+133.1%) and Volkswagen (+320%) post fantastic gains, while Chery (+198.2%) breaks into the Ukrainian Top 10 for what is believed to be the first time ever at #8.

The Top 4 best-selling models are SUVs this month, with the Toyota RAV4 (+103.2%) confirming it is Ukraine’s favourite ahead of the Renault Duster (-2.4%) and Kia Sportage (+3.7%), replicating last month’s order and the Year-to-date rankings. The VW Touareg (+1680%) advances a further three spots on February to rank at a record 4th place for the month. The Renault Sandero (-3%) is the best-selling car in the country above the Renault Logan (+13.6%) while the rest of the Top 10 is entirely composed of SUVs: the Nissan Qashqai (+90.7%), Hyundai Tucson (+38.6%), Toyota Prado (+175.3%) and Nissan X-Trail (+15.1%).
