Slovenia March 2021: Renault Clio and Dacia Duster top market up 157.6%

The Renault Clio is the best-selling vehicle in Slovenia in March.

As a result of Covid-19 dealership closures, March 2020 sales were down -62.4% on the year prior and logically this year they rebound back up 157.6% to 7.067, tilting the year-to-date tally into positive at +12.3% and 16.291 units. Note these figures remain below 2019 pre-pandemic volumes which were 7.304 for March and 20.262 year-to-date. Volkswagen (+69.7%) and Renault (+72.2%) are having trouble matching the market growth rate which is not the case for Skoda (+194.5%) resisting in 2nd place overall. All remaining Top 10 brands at least double their sales year-on-year, with Peugeot (+426.2%), Ford (+394.8%), Citroen (+389.9%), Kia (+237.9%) and Dacia (+217.2%) outpacing the market.

In the models ranking, despite trailing the market the Renault Clio (+90%) reclaims the top spot both for the month and year-to-date, dislodging the Skoda Octavia (+272.1%) down to #3 in March. The Dacia Duster (+288.6%) is up two spots on last month to #2 while the Skoda Kamiq (+270.6%)  is up five to #4. The VW T-Cross (+137.2%) rounds out the Top 5 ahead of the Hyundai Tucson (+97.8%) and VW T-Roc (+365.8%). The Citroen C3 (+533.3%) and Peugeot 2008 (+480.8%) also vastly outperform the market in the remainder of the Top 10 while the Renault Captur (+160.3%) matches it.
