Israel March 2021: Hyundai (+54%), Toyota (+68.6%) top market up 43.6%, Toyota Corolla leader in Q1

Thanks to our Israeli partner cartube.co.il, we can share with you today complete Israeli data including models data for each month of 2021 so far. A year ago the country was under a strict Covid-19 lockdown so logically this month new car sales bounce back up 43.6% year-on-year to 26.700 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 17.9% to 100.447. Hyundai (+54%) and Toyota (+68.6%) both outpace the market to cement their domination of the Israeli brands charts whereas Kia (+17.6%) is a lot more timid this month. In fact only Peugeot (+194.5%), Chevrolet (+136.4%) and Skoda (+45.7%) beat the market in the remainder of the Top 10, with Mitsubishi (+4.8%), Suzuki (+12.8%), Mazda (+14%) and Seat (+30.5%) underperforming. Further down, BMW (+449.2%), Fiat (+221.7%), MG (+175%) and Audi (+166.3%) stand out. Tesla makes its first appearance in the Israeli charts directly at #25 with 230 Model 3 registered, while Cupra is up 10 spots on last month to #39 and Aiways up 7 to #40.

Over the First Quarter of 2021, the Top 4 models are identical to the Full Year 2020 ranking, with the Toyota Corolla (+19.2%) in the overall lead with 5.1% share, distancing the Hyundai Ioniq (-23.1%) in difficulty. The Kia Picanto (+24.7%) and Hyundai i20 (+77.1%) follow in outstanding shape. The Toyota Yaris (+79%), Skoda Octavia (+22.9%) and Kia Sportage (+21.6%) all advance faster than the market but the Mitsubishi Outlander (-11.8%), Chevrolet Spark (-11.3%) and Skoda Kodiaq (-2.5%) go backwards. The Hyundai Venue (#22) is the best-selling recent launch (<12 months) above the Kia Seltos (#31), Kia Xceed (#49), MG eHS (#53) and Chevrolet Trailblazer (#64), all SUVs.
