New car sales in Greece drop -14.9% year-on-year in February to 6.689 units, an improvement on the -20.6% of January and leading to a year-to-date tally down -18.1% to 14.455 units. Brand leaders Toyota (-2.5%) and Peugeot (-4.2%) manage to almost stabilise their sales and rank #1 and #2 respectively like last month, but for once it’s Opel (+25.6%) that sports the largest gain in the Top 10 by far. In fact Mercedes (+0.3%) is the only additional Top 10 gainer at #10, with Citroen (-40.7%), Volkswagen (-36.6%), Hyundai (-36.5%) and Nissan (-33.9%) all at least doubling the market decline rate. Further down, Mazda (+90%), Lexus (+75%), Land Rover (+61.1%), Jeep (+40.8%), Ford (+38.1%), Audi (+27.4%) and Honda (+25.8%) all display spectacular year-on-year evolutions.

In the models ranking, the Toyota Yaris (-8.5%) repeats at #1 after a four-month drought (it hadn’t ranked on top since last August) while the Opel Corsa (+40.7%) is up three spots on January to end the month at #2 for the 5th time in the past 8 months. It however ranks #3 year-to-date below the Peugeot 208 (-1%) down one spot to #3 for the month. The Peugeot 2008 (+182.8%) continues to align stellar year-on-year gains thanks to the new generation and climbs 3 ranks on last month to #4. The Toyota C-HR (+70.6%) also soars at #5, with the VW T-Roc (+6.3%) and Toyota Corolla (+3.1%) the additional gainers in the Top 10. Just outside, the Ford Puma (+246.5%), Suzuki Vitara (+70.6%) and Hyundai i10 (+42.9%) make themselves noticed.
