Yemen Full Year 2020: Toyota holds 96.8% of market down -38.6%

New car sales in Yemen dive -38.6% year-on-year in 2020 to 5.276 units. This market is almost exclusively covered by Toyota (-36.7%) which improves to a 96.8% share thanks to more than 5.100 sales. No other manufacturer manages to sell over 100 units, with Hyundai (-18.2%) in 2nd place with 1.2% share and Lexus (-31.4%) in third with 0.9%. Suzuki, Nissan and Kia are also present. Model-wise, the Toyota Land Cruiser (-56.3%) loses over half its 2019 volume but remains the best-seller in the country with a mammoth 37.3% market share. The Toyota Hilux (+1.1%) manages to gain ground year-on-year and sees its share shoot up from 19.9% last year to 32.7%. The Top 4 is unchanged on 2019 with the Toyota Land Cruiser Pickup (-40.5%) and Prado (-48.9%) in tow. Outstanding evolutions by the Toyota Fortuner (+102.8%), Coaster (+95.8%) and RAV4 (+54.5%). The best-selling non-Toyota is the Lexus LX at #9 and the most successful non-Toyota Group vehicle is the Hyundai Tucson at #10 overall.
