Ukraine January 2021: Toyota and RAV4 easily top market down -18.9%

The Toyota RAV4 remains the best-selling vehicle in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian new car market is down -18.9% year-on-year in January on a high comparison base in January 2020 when the market was up 34.5%. Toyota (-18.5%) almost exactly follows the market and is rewarded with the brands top spot, overtaking Renault (-30.8%) in difficulty. Skoda (+4.3%) scores the only gain in the Top 5 and repeats at #3 above Kia (-24.5%) and Nissan (-42.2%) both losing share. Suzuki (+38.2%) and Mazda (+23.9%) are the biggest gainers in the Top 15. Below, notice JAC (+143.%), Lada (+129.5%), Honda (+100%), Seat (+94.3%), Ravon (+86.4%), Audi (+81.5%) and Haval (+20%) all posting fantastic gains. We welcome another Chinese marque this month: Hozon Auto Neta with one sale.

The Toyota RAV4 (-16.2%) easily tops the brands ranking with 7.5% share in a Top 4 exclusively composed of SUVs: the Renault Duster (-34.4%), Kia Sportage (-14.4%) and Nissan Qashqai (stable) follow. The Suzuki Vitara (+77.5%) and Mazda CX-5 (+46.6%) score the only and largest gains in the Top 10. Below, the Toyota Land Cruiser (+394.7%), Skoda Fabia (+277.4%) and Peugeot 2008 (+131%) all impress with surreal gains. The Mazda CX-30 (#35) is the best-selling recent launch (<12 months) above the Skoda Kamiq (#44) and Chery Jetour X70 (#60).
