Croatia January 2021: Fiat (+51.9%), Peugeot (+39.1%) impress, Fiat 500 leads in market down -19.7%

The Fiat 500 is the best-selling vehicle in Croatia in January.

The Croatian new car market starts the year off -19.7% year-on-year in January to 2.915 registrations. Brand leader Volkswagen (-5%) keeps its loss in check to advance to 22.3% share vs. 15.6% over the Full Year 2020 whereas Skoda (-23.3%) is down to 12.8% vs. 13.5%. Fiat (+51.9%) potentially fills up with fleet sales as it goes completely against the market trend with an outlandish year-on-year gain and third place overall vs. #14 in FY2020. Peugeot (+39.1%) stuns also in 5th place vs. #9 in FY2020. Further down, Opel (+12.7%), Ford (+39.5%), Jeep (+175%) and Porsche (+80%) also impress while Cupra is up to #28.

We have a new leader in the models ranking: the Fiat 500 (+76.7%) is #1 for the first time since December 2019 but this sudden surge could be triggered by fleet sales or re-exports. The Skoda Octavia (-42.2%) takes a hard hit and drops to 2nd place while the VW T-Cross (+10.1%) is very solid at #3. The Fiat Panda (+25.7%), VW T-Roc (+25.4%), VW Up (#8), Seat Leon (#9) and VW Tiguan (+12.1%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10, while further down the BMW 3 Series (#16), Skoda Karoq (#17), Kodiaq (#18) and Hyundai i30 (#20) also make an appearance in the January Top 20.
