Moldova Full Year 2020: Toyota RAV4 ends decade-long reign of Dacia Logan, sales down -23.4%

The Toyota RAV4 is the best-selling vehicle in Moldova this year.

The Moldovan new car market skids -23.4% year-on-year in 2020 to 5.233 units vs. 6.831 in 2019. This year we witness a very rare event atop the Moldovan models ranking: a change of leadership. Thanks to the new generation, the Toyota RAV4 (+24.8%) climbs up two spots to sign a decisive victory at 7.9% share. It distances the Dacia Duster (-30.3%) down to 6.1% share and the Dacia Logan (-42.3%) down to 5.8%. This means the RAV4 ends the reign of the Dacia Logan which had been the best-seller in Moldova ever since we started following this market back in 2011, or at least 10 consecutive years. The Kia Sportage (-18.2%) is up two spots to #4 and the Skoda Kodiaq (+18.5%) is up four to #5, making it four SUVs in the Top 5. Newcomers in this year’s Top 10 are the Skoda Superb at #8 and the Skoda Fabia at #10.
