Now that car showrooms are re-opened across the entire country, pent-up demand during the pandemic means all UK nations are in positive in July, with Wales (+39.2%) at 7.728, Scotland (+36.5%) at 15.568 and Northern Ireland (+17%) at 4.398 all beating the overall rate whereas England (+8%) which reopened on June 1 underperforms slightly. Year-to-date, Wales (-34.5%) fares the best again at 31.572, followed by England (-41.7%) at 716.856, Northern Ireland (-43.4%) at 19.561 and Scotland (-46.8%) at 58.443.
The Kia Niro cracks the Top 10 in two nations.
The Ford Fiesta tops two nations this month: England and Scotland, while ranking #2 in Wales and #3 in Northern Ireland. Outsold by the Fiesta in 3 out of 4 nations, the Vauxhall Corsa only owes its UK pole position to a stellar performance in Wales where it shoots up 385.3% year-on-year to grab a surreal 14.6% share thanks to a record 1.126 sales. It also ranks #2 in Scotland and #3 in England. The Ford Focus tops Northern Ireland and ranks #2 in England. Other podium finishers are the Hyundai Tucson #2 in Northern Ireland, the Toyota Yaris #3 in Scotland and the MG ZS #3 Wales and #4 YTD vs. #8 over FY2019.

The hero of the month is, once again, the Ford Puma: after notching its very first Top 10 finish in any UK nations last month (#9 in Wales), it now ranks within the Top 10 of all nations bar the UK and even the Top 5 of two nations, soaring to #5 in Northern Ireland and Wales and #7 in Scotland. Two nameplates make their first appearance in any UK nation this month: the Kia Niro manages to leap to #7 in Northern Ireland but also to #8 in Wales while the Hyundai Kona ranks #10 in Northern Ireland.
