According to our Central European market data partner CE Auto, new car sales in Moldova sink -24.2% year-on-year in July to 442 units, that’s a harsher decline than in June (-15.2%) which leads to a year-to-date tally off -29.3% to 2.578. The Toyota RAV4 (+40.7%) posts another year-on-year surge and threepeats at #1, cementing its YTD top spot with a whopping 8.5% share and taking a serious option at ending at least a decade of domination by the Dacia Logan (-57.1%), stuck at #3 for the month. The Dacia Duster (-20.6%) rallies back up 7 spots on June to #2, while the Kia Sportage (-12%) drops two ranks to #4. The Renault Kadjar leaps to #5, its highest Moldovan ranking and first Top 10 finish in over two years, since June 2018 when it also ranked #5. The Ford Kuga is up to #7 for its first Top 10 finish since we started following Moldova monthly in 2013 and the Skoda Scala breaks into the Top 10 for the first time ever at #10.
