Croatia July 2020: Citroen (+52.4%), Renault (+35%), Peugeot (+12%) highlight market down -17.4%

Both Renault and Citroen post spectacular gains in Croatia in July.

The Croatian new car market drastically reduces its fall in July but remains in the double-digits at -17.4% to 5.132 registrations, the year’s largest monthly volume so far, leading to a year-to-date tally down -49.1% to 22.568. The brands podium returns to its YTD order with Volkswagen (-13.8%) and Skoda (-18.9%) on top followed by Renault (+35%) and Peugeot (+12%) both in outstanding shape. In fact it’s a French month in Croatia with Citroen (+52.4%) lodging the only additional gain in the Top 8. Kia (+88.8%) and Audi (+26.4%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10 while Jeep (+414.3%), Lexus (+150%), Alfa Romeo (+140%), Mini (+88.2%) and Porsche (+42.9%) stand out further down.

Model-wise, the Skoda Octavia (-28.7%) reclaims the top spot it holds year-to-date even though it falls significantly faster than the market, distancing the Renault Captur (+123.2%), VW Polo (+71.2%) and Renault Clio (+65.3%) all in outstanding shape. The Opel Corsa (-26.7%) rallies back up to #5, its first Top 5 finish in a year, the Citroen C3 (+166.7%) leaps to #7, its highest ranking since June 2019 while the VW T-Roc (+151.1%) and T-Cross (+25.8%) also shine in the Top 10. Below, the Peugeot 2008 soars to its highest ranking since May 2019 at #12, the Peugeot 3008 is up to #14, the Hyundai i30 up to #16 and the Peugeot 208 up to #19.
