Latvia June 2020: Toyota RAV4 #1, Skoda Scala up to #5

The Skoda Scala is an instant blockbuster in Latvia.

New car sales in Latvia drop -21.1% year-on-year in Latvia to 1.272 units, leading to a First Half volume down -30.7% to 6.569 according to ACEA. Local outlet autoplius.lt has the Latvian market at 3.177 units over Q2 (-44.5%) and 7.047 units over H1 (-25.7%). Over Q2, Volkswagen (-49.9%) takes the lead of the brand ranking, upsetting Toyota (-55.4%) while Skoda (-16.4%) reclaims the advantage over Peugeot (-23.4%) and Renault remains at #5. Model-wise, the Toyota RAV4 (-45.1%) remains the best-selling vehicle in the country above the Toyota Corolla (-62.9%), Kia Sportage and VW Passat (-49.5%) while the Skoda Scala lands directly at #5, selling the same amount over Q2 as the Octavia. The Peugeot 5008 and Renault Master also slide into the Top 10.
