Northern Ireland (UK) Full Year 2019: Ford Fiesta snaps 7th win in past 8 years, Citroen C3 wins 3 months

Keep in mind this is only a zoom in by UK nation, all sales figures are included in our upcoming UK Full Year 2019 update. New car sales in Northern Ireland drop just -1.9% in 2018, that’s better than the UK average of -2.4%. The Ford Fiesta (-13.3%) claims a 7th win in the past 8 years despite a steep fall and only winning 3 months (June, August and September) The VW Golf (-1.5%) steps above the Ford Kuga (-7%) with the Hyundai Tucson (-1.1%), Nissan Qashqai (+1.9%) and Ford Focus (-0.9%) in tow like in 2018. The Kuga won 3 times (April, October and November), the Golf won twice (January and February) and the Nissan won in July. Despite winning 3 times – as much as the Fiesta and Kuga, the Citroen C3 can’t pop higher than #8 over the Full Year which is still, according to our files, the nameplate’s first appearance in the Northern Irish annual Top 10, same for the Ford Ecosport at #9. Other great performers throughout the year include the Vauxhall Grandland X up to #2 in December, the Renault Kadjar up to #3 in November, the Citroen C4 Cactus up to #3 in March, the Skoda Octavia up to #3 in May, the Citroen C4 Spacetourer up to #4 in May, the Seat Ibiza up to #4 in January, the Citroen C3 Aircross up to #5 in May and the Seat Arona up to #5 in November.
